We had a very busy day. We began Word Study and it went very well! The students remembered the routines from last year and jumped right in!
Homework:
This is a Blue Week for Spelling Assignments:
Spelling: Students are to write their words three times in cursive! Ugh!! I gave the students time in class to begin this assignment. Frederick County requires that all elementary students have writing instruction. Fifth grade is providing this instruction by weaving it in when time permits. Homework written in cursive is a required extension of this instruction. Your child was given a cursive letter strip.
Math: Students were given a packet for the week. Each day is labeled. Students may work at their own pace to complete the assignments as long as the student produces the expected homework in class the following day.
Math quiz is tomorrow.
